Platform Reliability Engineer

About the company

Our culture is built on effective communication, trust, and transparency. We believe great work happens when people feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow. Today, our team is made up of more than 80 professionals working across different projects throughout the region, collaborating remotely and learning from each other every day.

About the role

We’re looking for a Platform Reliability Engineer to join a dedicated delivery pod building and running an internal agent platform on AWS Bedrock AgentCore for a global life sciences organization.

You’ll work as part of a team alongside the client’s engineers to build the reliability and observability foundations that other teams will use to develop and run their agents.

The role focuses on making the platform visible, measurable, and dependable. You’ll work across OpenTelemetry instrumentation, observability integrations, distributed tracing, SLOs, alerting, and cost monitoring for token and compute usage.

When an agent is slow, produces errors, or becomes unexpectedly expensive, your work will help the team understand what is happening, identify the source, and take action.

This is a named-team engagement, meaning the person proposed for the role will be the person who joins the project.

Responsibilities

  • Build OpenTelemetry instrumentation standards for agents, tools, and platform services, making them easy for engineering teams to adopt.
  • Integrate AgentCore Observability and Amazon CloudWatch with existing enterprise observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, or similar tools.
  • Implement end-to-end distributed tracing across agent steps, model calls, tool calls, and multi-agent handoffs.
  • Define and implement SLOs, error budgets, and alerting strategies for latency, availability, and error rates.
  • Build reliable alerting that provides actionable signals without creating unnecessary noise.
  • Develop cost visibility and monitoring for token usage and compute spend across teams, agents, and environments.
  • Create dashboards, budgets, and alerts to identify unexpected increases in infrastructure or model usage costs.
  • Develop and maintain runbooks to support operational readiness and incident response.
  • Participate in incident response and troubleshooting, helping identify root causes and implement sustainable fixes.
  • Lead or contribute to post-incident reviews, turning findings into concrete improvements to the platform.
  • Work closely with client engineers and other technical stakeholders to turn observability and reliability data into actionable decisions.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in SRE, Platform Reliability, Observability Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS in production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry, including SDKs, collectors, exporters, and distributed tracing.
  • Experience with Amazon CloudWatch and at least one enterprise observability platform such as Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, New Relic, or similar.
  • Experience defining and operating SLOs, error budgets, and alerting strategies.
  • Experience building AWS cost visibility and FinOps reporting, including Cost Explorer, Cost and Usage Reports (CUR), and tagging strategies.
  • Scripting or development experience with Python, Go, or TypeScript.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to turn system data into actionable decisions.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Previous consulting experience.
  • Nice to have
  • Experience monitoring LLM or agent-based applications, including token usage, latency, errors, and quality signals.
  • Familiarity with LLM observability platforms such as Langfuse, Arize, or LangSmith.
  • Experience with AgentCore Observability.
  • Experience using Terraform or AWS CDK to provision and manage monitoring and observability infrastructure.
  • Experience working in pharma, life sciences, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
  • Previous experience or connections within the Life Sciences industry.
